About the Role
We are looking for a Head of Communication to lead and elevate TheMerode's brand and communication strategy.
As a key member of the management team, you will define the vision, voice, and direction of TheMerode's communication, both internally and externally.
You will manage a team covering content, digital, design, PR, and CRM, ensuring that all touchpoints reflect TheMerode's distinctive identity.
The role requires a presence of three days per week at our Rixensart offices and two days at TheMerode in Brussels.
Main Responsibilities
Lead the overall communication and brand strategy for TheMerode and its related entities (Ciao, Oken, Corporate Club).
Develop and implement a 360° communication approach across all channels: digital, PR, events, print, and internal communication.
Manage and mentor the communication team, ensuring clear objectives, collaboration, and creativity.
Oversee relationships with external agencies and creative partners (PR, design, media, production).
Define and maintain TheMerode's tone of voice, editorial direction, and visual identity.
Coordinate PR and offline campaigns in collaboration with experts and partners.
Use insights and data to measure communication impact and continuously optimize strategy.
Collaborate closely with other departments (Community, Events, Partnerships, Experience) to ensure brand alignment and message coherence.
Be a thought partner to management, contributing to the club's overall positioning and long-term strategy.
About You
8+ years of experience in communication, branding, or marketing roles, ideally in lifestyle, hospitality, or cultural environments.
Proven experience managing multidisciplinary teams and external agencies.
Strong strategic vision with the ability to translate ideas into actionable plans.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and French.
A creative leader who combines structure with sensitivity, capable of balancing brand consistency with innovation.
Deep understanding of PR, content creation, digital ecosystems, and brand building.
Emotionally intelligent, collaborative, and inspiring, with a natural flair for aesthetics and storytelling.
