The client is looking for a Key Account Manager to join his team in Brussels. The client is a Belgian company, specialized in importing and distributing Italian food products and wines. Its offerings include a wide selection of regional Italian specialities, which are supplied to various sectors, including retailers, hospitality businesses, and specialized shops. The company ensures product quality through a dedicated logistics system, utilizing temperature-controlled vehicles for daily deliveries across Belgium. Over the years, it has expanded its reach to supermarkets and other major retailers while maintaining a focus on authentic Italian gastronomy. The Key Account Manager will be responsible for managing a portfolio of clients within the retail, food, and FMCG sectors. This role involves daily client management, new client acquisition, contract negotiation, and overall account maintenance. The ideal candidate will have strong commercial acumen, excellent communication skills, and a proactive approach to resolving issues. Key Responsibilities: Daily Client Management: Manage and nurture relationships with existing clients in the (organized) Retail sector (e.g. Carrefour, Cora, Delhaize, Colruyt,...) Serve as the main point of contact for retail clients, ensuring their needs are met efficiently and effectively. Client Acquisition: Identify and recruit new clients, focusing on expanding the company's presence in central purchasing offices. Conduct outreach via phone and videoconferencing to establish new business relationships. Contract Negotiation and Administration: Oversee and follow up on client dossiers, negotiating annual contracts and addressing any disputes that arise. Maintain a solution-oriented approach to handle any issues efficiently. Collaboration with Purchasing Department: Maintain ongoing communication with the purchasing department to ensure alignment and support for client needs. Client Advisory and Support: Provide clients and prospects with detailed information on products, pricing, general conditions, delivery timelines, and promotional plans. Offer strategic advice and consultation to help clients optimize their purchasing decisions. Sales team management: Lead a team of 4 sales representatives on the ground, setting priorities, objectives and follow-up of commercial activity Reporting and Communication: Regularly report to the management on account status and performance. Organizational Skills: given our small size and entrepreneurial spirit, Demonstrate excellent organizational skills, managing multiple priorities, and taking initiative when necessary. Work autonomously while ensuring alignment with overall company goals. Master in Economics or Business engineering At least 3-4 years of experience as KAM with retail clients Autonomous and Organized: Ability to prioritize tasks and take proactive steps to address challenges. Result-Driven: Strong result orientation with a commitment to team collaboration and initiative-taking. IT Proficiency: Proficient in using IT tools and applications including Microsoft Office Suite (Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Bilingual Proficiency: Fluent in both Dutch and French, with excellent written and spoken communication skills in both languages. Have Passion: For achieving sales targets and delivering excellent client service.
