Our client is looking for a Mechanical Development Engineer.

Context :

The primary focus will be on mechanical design of technical products. The role covers early concept development activities but also the design for automated manufacturing and assembly in volume production. You ensure that the design complies with the requirements (size, price and performance) and is optimized for the application.

Responsibilities:

• Communicate with external partners/vendors
• Engage early in the concept phase. Make preliminary mechanical designs, working iteratively with the HW Architect and layout engineers for a viable product
• In the design phase: make sure that the module fits with applicable standards and multisource agreements, while the inside is optimized with respect to real estate usage, robustness, cost and performance.
• Bring-up / Design Verification Test phase

Must Have:

• At least 4+ years of experience working in SolidWorks or similar 3D CAD programs
• Experience of mechanical designs of telecom or similar applications
• MSc or BSc degree in the field
• Knowledge and experience with Monte Carlo simulations, statistical simulation...
• Strong problem-solving skills and technical expertise
• Abilitity to work in a fast-changing environment
• Self-motivated teamworker, good drive
• Willing to learn and take on new challenges
• Strong documentation skills
• Proficient in English
• Valid work permit within European Union
• Position located in the area of Charleroi, 100% on site.
