Quality Engineer – Food & Biotech Projects

Salary: €70,000

About the role

We are looking for a motivated and proactive Quality Engineer with a strong interest in food and biotechnology projects. You will play a key role in supporting the preparation, execution and follow-up of innovative food-grade pilot and development activities, while contributing to the continuous improvement of quality and food safety systems.

Profile

The ideal candidate holds a bachelor's or master's degree in nutrition, food technology, chemical engineering, biological engineering or a related scientific field.

You preferably have knowledge and/or experience with quality and food safety systems such as HACCP, FSSC 22000, ISO 9001 or other GFSI-recognized standards. Experience with internal audits, inspections or certifications is considered an asset.

You work in a structured, accurate and pragmatic way, with strong attention to detail. You are eager to learn, proactive, and motivated by continuous improvement and innovation. You are able to work independently, while also collaborating effectively within multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Support the preparation and follow-up of new food-related pilot and development projects
• Coordinate and contribute to HACCP studies to ensure pilot activities are carried out under food-grade conditions
• Follow up pilot runs from a quality and food safety perspective, including communication with customers or external partners
• Assist in the implementation, maintenance and improvement of Quality and Food Safety Management Systems
• Support internal and external audits to ensure smooth execution
• Perform quality-related administrative tasks, including:
• Document control and management
• CAPA follow-up
• KPI monitoring
• Organization of inspections, audits and training sessions
• Management review support
• Supplier quality management
• Apply and help monitor compliance with food safety and quality requirements on the work floor
• Work closely with colleagues across different departments
• Collaborate with other Quality Engineers under the guidance of a Quality Manager
