Purpose of the PositionThe Technical Engineer – Structures plays a key role in ensuring the continuing airworthiness and operational reliability of Air Belgium’s aircraft structures. This position is integral in analysing airworthiness data, implementing regulatory compliance, and improving technical standards to enhance safety and operational performance.Main Activities and ResponsibilitiesTechnical Support for AirworthinessSupport the Technical Management team in meeting Continuing Airworthiness requirements, focusing on aircraft structures.Airworthiness Data AnalysisAnalyse incoming airworthiness data, including Airworthiness Directives (ADs), Service Bulletins (SBs), and other technical documentation, to assess relevance and applicability to Air Belgium’s operations.Evaluate the applicability and compliance of aircraft ADs, prepare related engineering orders, task cards, and materials.Structural Modifications Documentation ManagementInvestigate potential structural modifications, propose solutions, and handle all related documentation and tasks (engineering orders, task cards, materials).Maintain up-to-date records of modification status and control the structural Modifications Binders.Ensure that modifications comply with Supplemental Type Certificates (STCs) and Air Belgium’s operational needs.Technical InvestigationsConduct technical investigations following occurrence reports related to aircraft structural defects or maintenance issues.Introduction Re-DeliveryPrepare structural introduction files in accordance with BCAA requirements.Compile re-delivery documentation for aircraft structures, ensuring compliance with lease agreements.Structural Monitoring and ReliabilityMonitor and analyse trends related to structural reliability and integrity, providing monthly reports.Identify, analyse, and implement corrective actions for any issues found through the reliability process.Damage Management Records MaintenanceMaintain and update aircraft Damages Lists and Charts.Keep track of damage binders and monitor painting requirements and approvals for the aircraft.Shop Visits RepresentationEngage with engine MROs during aircraft maintenance and repairs, ensuring quality control and compliance with maintenance and overhaul standards.Represent Air Belgium during maintenance checks and structural shop visits when required.Profile RequirementsSelf-behaviourComply with local, national legislations and health safety standards.Comply with Company policies, values, and auditor’s code of ethics.Report to hierarchy any hazards, non-compliances, and risks whether to customers, employees or to the company.Display a positive, open, and cooperative attitude in order to facilitate a good working relationship with all parties involved while maintaining a critical and analytical mindset.Education QualificationsMaster’s degree in Engineering (preferably Aeronautical, Electromechanical, or equivalent).At least 1 year of experience in an aviation/aeronautical environment (CAMO experience is a plus).Strong understanding of aircraft maintenance techniques (Airbus/Boeing experience is advantageous).Fluent in English (French/Dutch is a plus).Strong analytical skills with the ability to synthesize complex technical information.Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail with the ability to prioritize tasks.Proficiency in MS Office and aviation maintenance software.
