ENGin pairs English‐fluent volunteers from around the world with Ukrainian learners for weekly online conversation practice. Participants are matched 1‐on‐1 based on preferences, interests, and availability to ensure an effective and mutually enjoyable communication experience.

Since launching in 2020, ENGin has connected over 26,000 Ukrainians with more than 24,000 volunteers. 99% of our learners report breaking the language barrier after three months of participation in our program. 79% of our participants form lasting friendships.

We'll pair you up with a learner in Ukraine for weekly one‐hour video chats at times that are convenient for you. During your conversations, you'll practice English with your partner, learn about each other's cultures, and offer an empathetic, authentic space for connection.

Volunteer Responsibilities

Provide a weekly one‐hour video chat with a Ukrainian learner.

Practice conversational English and improve listening and speaking skills.

Offer an empathetic, authentic, and supportive space for cultural exchange.

Volunteer Requirements

English fluency.

Strong internet connection.

Commit to one hour a week for a minimum of 10‐12 weeks.

No prior tutoring experience or knowledge of the Ukrainian language is needed. We offer ample training resources, session materials, and total flexibility to customize your sessions to fit your goals and preferences. Our friendly team is available to support you throughout your time with us.
